GS750E - Signal Question....Stupid (likely)

Don't know about an 80 by my '83 GS750ES did not have running lights in the front. I changed the sockets and it does now.

can you not just change the bulbs and the single contact to a two contact base (radio shack or other suppliers) in the socket, i know when you use a dual filiment bayonet base bulb the side pins on the bulb are at a different height but a grinder or file will take care of that and just wire it to the tail light circuit?

Running Lights are Good...
I'll sit and wait patiently with th eothers that are interested in your wiring mod. I don't get why something like this should have to be a mod... I mean gee... they want us to be seen and not putting enough running lights seems kind of counter productive :?
Anyway, I'm waiting for that mod info and thanks for offering to bring it up :-D

Turn Signal/Running Lights
The attached file shows how I made my single filament turn signals into turn signals/running lights. The schematic refers to doing the mod for the front lights. If you could find some red lenses for the rear, the same mod could be done for the rear. The relays could be located under the left side cover.
BTW. The colors are for a GS1100GLD.

how about "this wire goes here this wire goes there " I have an 85 GS700E that I would like to change the lights out to the triumph lights that I have, but the triumph lights are all single filiment bulbs ( I have all four).
I can wire stuff , I just have always had a hell of a time reading schematics

On my GS1100GLD, the original front signal lights were dual filament. The gray wire in the headlight bucket was used as the running light circuit. It supplied power for the running lights. The black wire and the green wire are the turn signal circuit feeds for the left and right respectively. What I am accomplishing here is using the gray circuit as power for the single filament turn signal/running lights. The black and green circuit wires are used to feed the power to the turn signal filaments of each side. They are now being used as the signal to operate the relay coils. One should note that the relays are wired so that the normally closed contact of the relay is used. This will provide power to the lights constantly as long as the turn signal circuit is idle. When the turn signal is activated, the relay activates, turning the light off. If one was to observe the front and the rear signals, they would see that when the front signal light is on, the rear is off and vice versa. The other side of the lamp and the relay coil is connected to ground. This is usually a blk/wht wire color on these bikes.
