    aftermarket rectifier

anybody know what the best aftermarket rectifier for a '79 suzuki would be??

i recently purchased an electrex but its way too huge to fit into the alloted space on my bike... i'd rather not attempt reshaping it with a hacksaw, etc..

    any suggestions?? thanks.

Several guys here have gone to a used Honda unit. You might try a search on Honda Rectifier to see what they have done, Supposed to be a better product than that used by Suzuki. Ray

Before you start cutting anything, chck and see if what you bought is a regulator/rectifier. I just did some work on my pal's 79 1000. The regulator and rectifier are separate units. If you got a combination from electrex, you should have enough room to mount it. How many wires are coming out of the new unit?

It mounts to the bottom of the battery box
