    loosing lights?

I need some advise from fellow GSer's.I was riding to work the other day and the ol' girl started missing and cutting out like it was going to die.I then noticed my headlight and 5th gear indicator light were getting brighter then dimmer then they blew out.I switched to high beam and it also blew.My speedo and tach lights and 2nd gear indicator light then went. The bike then started cutting out a couple more times.Good thing was, it did get me back home.I do have turn signals and a tail light and brake light. The bike does start and run. Could I be a canadiate for a stator or regulator or something else.Any help would be appreciated.8-[

Hi Tracy, sorry to say this sure sounds like a regulator failure. When bulbs start popping like that it is usually because they are getting too high, or wildly fluctuating voltage. It is up to the regulator to control the voltage from the stator. If you don't have the knowledge or test meter to check the charging circuit, I would get an auto-electrician to check it out. Good luck!:?

Yep, sounds like charging voltage is way too high, not being controlled by regulator.

Need to check voltage with a meter.

I understand that one typical cause of the voltage being way to high it the requlator/rectifyer not being grounded, or the R/R has failed.
