    Carb sizes

I have been having carb trouble but thats all sorted now, I was however given a set of carbs that I was told were off an GSX1100, so I was going to put them on my 750 Katana (83) but when I measured them up they were both 32mm (taken from the engine side of the throte) so does my 750 already have 1100 carbs on it or was I given a 750 set?
    Whats std for a GSX1100 and a GSX750?

For the GS series remember their are exceptions
    GS750 32 maybe 34mm
    GS850 32mm
    GS1000/1100 2v 34mm
    GS 1100/1150 4v may have 34 or 36mm

cheers for that, but must remember that over here the 2 valve engines were the GS and all 4 valve engines were called GSX, which is what I'm refering to, the GSX's had diaframe carbs not round slides like the GS series.

How are you guys measuring the diameters?

Are they measured internally? ie bore ID.
Or are you measuring the OD?

The diameter of a carb is measured as the inside of the throat leading into the cylinder. The airbox side tends to be a bit larger.

My 82 GS(X)1100EZ 16v has 34mm CV carbs. My 81 GS(X) 750 16v had 32mm CV carbs. Both sets of carbs had the round slides with vacuum diaphrams in the tops of the carbs.

Text messages with my youngest brother Daniel right after he was paralyzed:

Me: Hey Dan-O. Just wanted to say howdy & love ya!

Dan-O: Howdy and Love you too. Doing good, feeling good.

Me: Give 'em hell, Little Bro!

              Dan-O: Roger that! :)
