'81 GS450L Oil Seals
I'm replacing several of the seals around the shifter/sprocket. I have everything out - but I'm having trouble getting the new oil seals in. I'm afraid I'm causing damage to the seals trying to get them back in. Does anyone know a good way to get the new OIL seals back in without damaging them?Tags: None

Try using a deep socket wrench of a suitable diameter, and just tap them in. Works all the time.

use a little assembly lube on the seals it helps a lot. get it from a mechanic as they ussually have left overs from jobs(my brothers a boat mech)

Got em in
Thanks for the advice, I was able to get the seals in and I think it took care of the oil leak. - At the very least it doesn't leak as much as it used to -
In the end I put the seals in hot water for awhile and used a hair dryer plus some oil around the edges to tap em in.....
