The Vance & Hines exhaust sounds flippin' AWESOME. Not really all that loud, actually, but a lovely deep rippling burble. Expensive, though.
The Mac just sounds, well... kinda eh. Buzzy and shrill by comparison. Mac stuff is somewhat cheaper.
I believe JonR has used both on his 750, and it sounds totally righteous with the V&H. V&H stuff tends to look nicer and hold up a bit better, IMHO.
You DO have to rejet and use pods.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

If you just need to replace the mufflers, some here have had great success with welding on discarded stock Harley mufflers.
Some have even reported that grateful Hardley-Ableson dealers have happily invited them to carry away all the mufflers they could, since over 99% of the brave nonconformists who buy Hardleys immediately replace the exhausts with lifesaving open pipes, purely out of selfless regard for their fellow man.

Whoops, sorry -- can you turn on your "'Merkin" to "Strine" dialect translation software? I'll try to get to Outback Steakhouse soon to soak up some authentic Aussie phrases from reading the menu... :twisted:1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
