Patrick has just called past to buy my retired 850 as a spares bike. Sad to see the end of my GS years, but glad to see it go to a good home.

Anyway, there's something very wrong with his centre stand. It literally takes 2 to lift the bike onto it. Problem certainly not caused by Irish feebleness. A stand swap should sort things out.

      Exhaust popping:
      1. Leaking inlet manifold.
      2. Leaking exhaust manifold.
      3. Blocked/ dirty jets in a carb or carbies.
      4. Incorrect (lean) jetting.
      5. Missing or holed air filter.
      6. Free-breathing after-market exhaust.

So, except for #6, it's not OK... PLEASE FIX ... unless you like burnt valves, cracking aluminium around the valve seats, and then perhaps valve seats dropping out, etc.

It was good to meet up with "Tool" this week. I have purchased his 850 as spares as he says in his posting:-D . I will be picking it up next week and a few bits and pieces will be changed over. Its going to be fun. BTW now got the gaskets for the heads. cheers.

A little late but I am advised if your bike has CRABS stop parking in the harley area.
