Need brake parts - 1980 GS750E
I am in need of new front brake pistons and seals, as well as a master cylinder rebuild kit for my 1980 GS750E. If anyone has access to these parts or knows where I can get some inexpensively, I'd love to know. Partsnmore.com has master cylinder rebuild kits for $20, and bikebandit.com claims to have the pistons (which are supposedly discontinued) for $16 and change. Are these the best deals? The local bike shop said they'd charge me around $25 for 1 piston and $15 for 1 caliper kit, so I'm trying to do a little research. If anyone has any extra complete front calipers laying around that are in working condition, I'm also up for doing business. Thanks!Last edited by Guest; 08-04-2006, 10:25 AM.Tags: None

I have been buying the entire set up from eBay for about $30.00. You should check. Brake calipers and master cylinders are listed all the time.

Do you have the round or rectangular master cylinder? You never see them on Fleabay but there are two round ones listed right now. Do a search for GS1100 on Fleabay.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

You know........unless you are a died-in-the-wool purist any Suzuki master cylinder will work. I even use the square ones on my handle bars that require the master cyllinder to tilt a great deal. Even the master cylinders from the ole' GTs' (two strokes) will fit a GS.
