DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

thats doesn't help much that is just to check oil pressure and i'm scared if you take oil from there then you will be starving oil from somewhere in the motor. can you take some more pictures of the motor it's self so maybe we can see what the setup is like.

Okay i will do that... and yes i was thinking the same thing about losing pressure...when i open that chrome cap it goes into a round oil journal that leads all the way tto the other side of the motor ....that area is pressurized with oil and the oil goes around the triangle o-rings at the base up the studs to the head....i wonder if there is oil pressure that goes into the bottom also for the rollerbearings or if the pump is only for the top end. i will get some pictures.

i looked at the pics and i can honestly say i have no idea. You i think are the firt person on this site that has tried or wants to install a oil cooler on your 400. what is the bolt the sits right behind the starter? maybey you can take oil from that? and then just run it back to your clutch cover or sumtin? i have no idea. you may need to fully take the motor apart and figure out how the oil runs through it?

sorry i can't help all i can say is keep it on the street or if in dirt don't run it at WOT.

ok i see...thanks for your time anyways.

That bolt behind the starter cover is just a shift cam stopper theres a spring with a ball on the end under that..and i know how the oil works, its pumped from the pan and pushed directly into the oil filter cavitie then pushed into the bearings also into the oil journal that goes into the heads and that chrome nut on the end of the cover opens up that oil journal to the heads...not sure what its there for but thats where that is.

I was thinkin i could get oil from that bolt on the oil filter cover but i dont know how its done.

"thats why you need a adapter and you can't buy one they are rare."
Ah so. I'm looking for just such an item for the cooler I'd like to mount to my GS550L. Any ideas for getting one?
