    GS 550 Head info

    Hi,

I am just putting my GS550 engine back together after a major rebuild, but my Haines has a chunk missing from the page which gives the torque settings for the cylinder head, can anybody let me know the torque settings?

I will buy another copy, but really wanted to try and get the bike up and running tomorrow.

    thanks in advance

        what year is the bike?
        *EDIT*
Well, I guess it doesn't matter. My Clymer covers GS550 1977-1986.
The Cylinder Head nuts should be torqued in a criss-cross pattern, from inside to outside to 16.5-20.0 Ft.-lbs. or (2.3-2.8 mkg). And the two end bolts as well as the exhaust bolt on the front of the engine are torqued to 5.0-8.0 Ft.-lbs. or (0.7-1.1 mkg).
