Help finding front brake parts for 1979 GS1000E

I have been looking at all the sites mentioned throughout various threads but cannot find front break parts specifically for my bike. There seems to be a lot of parts for the "L" model. I'm looking for new front brake lines and rebuild caliper kit for my GS1000EN. Anybody have and suggestions?

A couple of places to try for brake parts:

Z1 Enterprises specializes in quality Motorcycle parts for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Classic Japanese motorcycles from the 1970's and 1980's.

With z1enterprises, if the parts are not listed, give them a call. They are very helpful and will order parts from Japan if required.

As far as the brake lines, it would be cheaper to purchase stainless steel braided lines, you can have them custom made or buy a complete kit. You will also find that brake feel is greatly improved with these lines.

I've been to both of those sites but they don't carry the front brake parts for the 1000E. I am looking for stainless steel lines. It looks like I can order OEM rubber lines and components from bikebandit.

Did you give Jeff at Z1 a call? Many parts are not listed on his web site, but he can order them for you.

            Break Lines

I haven't called Jeff yet. I'm amazed at the prices for steel braided lines. I can buy car lines for a fraction of the cost. For that matter rotors are higher priced than cars.I am surprised there are no premade lines for my bike.

I bought front rubber and two axe pins for my front calipers and it was eighty bucks. Two complete rebuilt kits without axle pins were $80 each side. This doesn;t make much sense to me since a complete rebuild on the rear calipers were $48. My car I can do for about that also.

Oh! Well so much for the costs of restoring old bikes.

            Steve

Russell also makes pre-made front and rear SS lines for your '79 GS1000E. I have some on mine and I'm very happy with them. They were expensive but cost wasn't a big deal to me.
And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!
