    Carb Boots

What is the correct direction of the boots when you put them on the motor? I know there is a topic about this but I can't find it. Thanks again:-D

Boots marked "L" go on the left.....just making sure you had that part right:-D . On my bike (not saying it is absolutely correct--PO could have screwed me again:shock: ) the vacuum ports go down and outward.

I know they are marked left and right but do the port holes also face left and right, or kinda down? Thx

First, the intake manifold and the carb manifold should have two different diameters, so check that out. Generally, the built in o-ring on the ID of the boot is larger in size on the head than the carbs. Then, make sure you have left and right set, then pop them on and twist until all the faces of the boots (facing the airbox) are in the same plane. The face should be parallel to the face of the airbox boots.

Just a note, I install the carbs to the airbox first, then install the two center boots while the carbs are installed. Then the outside two. I find it's easier than putting the boots on before the carbs.
