Wife may not kill me for buying those! Will any year work or do I need to stick within a range?

There is a very long run of those coils. Like from 89 through 97 I think. As long as they look like the ones in that ad, you'll be OK. The most prominent feature of these coils is that the wires come out from underneath the main body. From that little bump on the bottom.

Those wires are secured by a clip that you can carefully pop off, and then unscrew the wires from the coil. Buy some wires of the same diameter, and screw them back in and replace the clip, et voila, new plug wires!

Well I have few days before any of the ebay sells are completed, so I'm borrowing a coil until I get the katana ones. Thanks for all the help guys!

Well, still not having the greatest luck... Borrowed a coil, didn't know if it worked before I got it or not. put it on the bike... No spark... unpluged it and tested the other coil, no spark.... took the side off so I could see the points and condesors... When I crank it the points move, but I'm not seeing a spark all the time there either. My meter may not be working right but following the manual on testing the condensors, I get what looks like a good ohm reading on one and nothing on the other. So now for the big decision... Buying a dyna-s and getting katana coils or buying a new set of points and condensors and katana coils.
Getting tired of pushing the bike around the neighborhood and making motor sounds!Last edited by Guest; 09-10-2006, 06:49 PM.

Well my digital multimeter is pretty much toast... So I had to pull out one that is probably as old as my bike to use. So now I'm looking for points, condesors and a set of katana coils before I can get going again. Oh Joy! LOL
