Dumb question: seat bracket/gas tank/grommet order?
Silly question but when I took my seat apart initially I didn't really note in which order the gas tank flange, rubber grommets, and seat bracket go when bolting them down to the frame. Can't seem to find a picture in my manuals either.Tags: None

I have a 78 1000 & if it is the same as mine it goes from the back to the front with the washer under the head of the bolt then the grommet fits into the the hole for the gas tank mount underneath the the mounting bolt. Hope that helps some.

Well I guess I'm still a little unclear. Can anybody give me something like:
From top to bottom:
Bolts
Washers (on the bolt)
Grommets ("bushings" a better word?)
Gas tank flange (two bolt holes)
Seat bracket (two bolt holes)
...but in the correct order of course. ;-)
I have an aftermarket seat but I assume the stock seats have a similar type of bracket that bolts on those same two bolts. It has a lip which another bracket on the seat fits under.

Well that does help. Duh, I could have checked the fiche. ;-) But it still doesn't show where the seat bracket fits.
Looks like I might be missing the flat cushions in the back...
