Would these work with my bike (1978 GS750E)? Would I need to change anything else?

Accel Coil Set
I'm curious... I'm having some problems with my bike (See Not a good day thread) and one of my coils is showing around 82 ohms, so not sure if that is the entire culprit or not... but anyway, dealer says $95 for one new coil... Cycle - re- cycle has an entire kit of ACCEL COIL SET for $169.95 definately wouldn't mind the yellow cables...

I'm no expert on Accel, but if you're running points ignition you'll need 5 ohm coils.
You probably already know this, but most of us with ignition problems have gone with a Dyna S ignition and coils, replacing the points assembly and both coils. http://www.z1enterprises.com/ has a good price. For $240 plus shipping you can have a whole new ignition that's a great improvement. Not hard to install either on your model. Oops, the plug wires are another $25.00 and come in red or black I believe.Last edited by Guest; 09-08-2006, 05:12 PM.

Was only $120 from z1 for me -- I stuck with the stock coils though. Easiest install ever and solved my ignition problem right away without any more guesswork.
*EDIT* (Dyna S ignition, that is.)

OK, well it looks like I have 1 coil that is bad... I left the key in run after looking at stuff during lunch, when I got home at 4:30 I saw it was still on. Touched the RH coil that gave me an OHM reading of 82k and it was nearly hot enough to burn you.
I think I looked at the wrong kit for my bike... So now I gotta figure out what all parts I need.
