    Head bolt torque for 82 1100 with 4 valve head?

    This is my first "old school" bike to work on and I like it. Wish I had done a little more research here before I yanked the head off though. All I needed to replace was the head nut o-rings. Thanks for the help.

      Cylinder head nut 25.5-29 lbs
      Cylinder head bolt 5-8 lbs

      1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
      1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

        Torque the 12 cylinder head nuts to 3.5-4.0 mkg (25.5-29.0 ft.-lb.) in the order shown in the attached file. Torque the end bolts and the bolt between the center exhaust ports to 0.7-1.1 mkg (5.0-8.0 ft.-lb.).

        You should get a service/repair manual.
