    Turn signals wont work

My turn signals dont work on my bike i installed a newer switch on the handle bars,i took the switch all aprt and cleaned all the contacts when i turn the bike on and hit the turn signals on i hear the lil relay click but the signals dont do anything and the light on the dash dont light up.

I checked the fuse at the box and its working fine

After you turn on the ignition, and hear the click, do any of the bulbs light up?

There is an electrical load required to make the flasher work.

Your first check should be to see if all the bulbs are the correct ones, that all the bulbs themselves are good, and that the connections to them are good. LED bulbs use less electricity, and will not provide the required load.

You can check the wiring to each of the lamps with a meter or circuit tester, after removing the bulb.

If, after turning on the signal switch, you see one lamp light up, then the other bulb on the same side is probably defective, or has a poor connection.

If both bulbs light up, but do not flash, then the flasher unit is defective or you have the wrong flasher.

If all of the above has checked out, and nothing lights up, it is still likely the flasher unit.

Electronic flashers are better than the stock type, as they will trigger a flash with only one bulb, and that includes using LED bulbs, but you may have some work to find a seller that can tell you which one to buy.

After installing mini pod lights (with lamps, not LED's) on my 1000, I had the same problem you describe. I would hear the flasher click once. Do your lights come on, and stay on? I replaced the stock flasher with an el-cheapo round type I got at Kragen's for like $2.99. Works fine.

If you installed LED's you need something like this:
