    78 GS750 Brake Discs

    Hi all.

Do any of the later drilled/slooted type front discs fit on the 78 750.
I have seen slotted types on a GS650GT that has the same calipers will they fit.
I have had it with winter brakes...

The solid discs are totally interchangeable with the slotted discs. I alternate front wheels, one with slotted discs, the other with solids off my old 1979 GS850G. They both work just fine. Same bolt pattern. No difference in performance either.

Do you find the slotted discs are better in the wet weather.

        No. No difference.

The big thing that drilled discs do for you is improve performance with hard repeated braking. They help stop brake fade. If you're not having any problems, it may not be worth it.

Problem I am having is this.

Brake lever nice and firm (Briaded hoses). This is good.
Brakes work OK in the dry new pads. This is also good.
Brakes sh*te in the wet. This is real bad.
Brakes squeel real bad in the wet. This is damn annoying.
This has only happened since I put new pads in.

EBC said that the newer kevlar brake material is much harder
and this is why the brakes squeel when applied hard in the wet.
I was also told that drilled/slotted discs would help to clean the wet from
the surface of the brake pad thus helping wet braking.

Any further input would be really useful
