    GS1100 gas tank petcock

My 1984 GS1100 is presently a basket case. In the process of rebuilding, I attempted to put gas tank back on to start motor and realized that not only have I misplaced the bolts that hold on the petcock assembly but also cannot remember if there was a full gasket behind. I have found suitable temporary replacement bolts but assembly is leaking. Can anyone set this weekend mechanic straight?

If your petcock is anything like mine there should be an o-ring type gasket that fits in the groove of the base of the petcock.

I just today took the petcock off of my 82 gs1100. There seems to be the remains of a thin paper/cork gasket that I'll be dealing with soon.
