i dont know, but doesnt it say it somewhere on it. i thought it said the brand on mine when i was working on the points.

I know I have Nippon Denso on my 78 GS1000 & it dosn't look like that.

Pull the points plate off and look for a stamp on the advancer, KD or ND. Of there is no stamp it should be a KD. A 78' 550 is likely to be KD.

ok I'm leaning towards KD myself. however there is a TINY stamp on the advancer. it's like 1 MM if that of a circle around a sqaure and something in the middle that could be letters but are so small you can't decifer them.
What does the Nippon Denso stamp on the advancer supposed to look like? Is it bigger than 1MM big? Can you read ND?
