    750 in a 1100 frame

    I have both a 78-750 motor & a 80 gs 1100 chain drive frame & suddenly it hit me.......
Has anyone ever put this motor in this frame. I am willing to make motor mounts, so can it be done & what should I be aware of?

Anything can be done, the impossible just takes longer and costs a great deal more money. Though I've not done that specific conversion, I'm in the process of yet another toy/conversion and it's a shafty...slightly more tricky due to shaft lengths, diameters, spline count and the always present output shaft offset. Chain models are a little easier but again, the offset will come into play. My guess is that this would be a fairly simple conversion, though I would expect a spacer or two may need to be machined.

You can look forward to a few of these ](*,) and some of this .

    Good Luck...

it will go right in there though it is normaly done the other way around.

there are a few 7/11's around, moto-dan here has one, a 750 with a 1100 engine in it.
pretty straight foward, you do have to make some adjustemts for the engine mounts but it is not very hard.

the wiring will be differant as the 80 is a electronic ignition.

The only problem will be the insurance will want to insure it as a 1100+
otherwise I would think it to be an easy swap

what the insurance people don't know won't ever hurt them!!!

PS: I pay the same for my 80 1000G and my 83 1100E
