Gs___l?
I'm sure there is an easy explanation to this, but does anyone know what the letters GS are referring to and more specifically in my case, what does the L denote. I've noticed in everything I've read about this bike (GS650L), seems to have it as the "exception" to the rule. By this I mean, when reading the repair manuals, everything says "except L". Then, the seperate spec for the L is given...usually higher air pressure, fluid volume, and torque specs. What gives?Tags: None

L designates it as a cruiser as opposed to sport. On the home page go to the link that say Model Information and it will explain the letter designations

"Gran Sport".And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

yeah, with the L model , youll find a different seat, different handlebars, different forks, and a gastank. also gearing may be different. most other stuff should be pretty close..
