rear master cylinder kit order GS850L
Hi, can anyone tell me the order for the rubber bits, spring and piston go when rebuilding the rear master cylinder? I've searched on here and looked at the schematic on Alpha-sports web site but it isn't clear where each part goes, especially the rubbers. Sorry, I wasn't paying attention when taking it apart, all the bit fell into the tray to collect them but I missed the order they came out in.Tags: None

From my look at a schematic, it appears that the parts go in this order:
The seal end of the piston (with the wiper) points downward, and the large rubber cup fits over the opposite end of the piston.
The large end of the spring rests on the large rubber cup.
The small rubber piece goes on the small end of the spring.
As I said, this is just from looking a schematic, so try it and see if seems right.

thanks
thanks boondocks, I'll give that a go and see what happens.
Does the little rubber cup the end of the spring?, plus I assume this then goes in first followed by spring, larger rubbber, piston?
thanks again,
Matt

Yes, that's how it appears to me. The little rubber cup goes on the narrow end of the spring and goes in first. The larger rubber cup fits on the larger end (bottom) of the spring, followed by the piston. That is the way I would try it.

the correct order?
Hi Boondocks,
this is, I believe, the correct order. Going in first; small rubber cup, spring (open end) larger rubber (cup side first) piston/plunger ( flat end first).
I had put the larger rubber in upside down and it took me 2 days to bleed the system without any result, I was sucking in air through the mastercylinder!!!
Now I just need to get new bleed nipples as fluid gets past them when only a 1/4 turn open!
Many thanks for your help.
Cheers
Matt
