    Digital Gear Shift Indicator

I've been playing with a design (not built yet) for a simple Digital Gear Shift Indicator. I may retrofit my bike next year with an Electro Sport "Glass Cockpit" and if I do, this little device would become handy. It can be seen here:

You ever implement this gear indicator? Was thinking about doing something similar myself.

      Gear indicator

How are you going to work the sensors? Are you going to hard wire something to the tranny or do you have something else in mind?

Not implemented yet, but the design is sound and will work. No sensors needed the inputs connect to the existing wiring for the gear shift indicator lamps on the GS series bikes.

Have to be a member of Yahoo groups to see your link.

82'-83' 750E and 1100E has this already. probably more. Ive got a NOS spare and I see them on ebay quite often. 1-0-2-3-4-5 and backlit.

Yeah, when I took my OEM indicator apart and saw how simple it was, this was basically the first thing that popped into my head as well.

Although I'm not sure I'd really miss the gear indicator, so I may never implement it either. ;-)

1150s have them too. The sensor is under the countershaft cover.
