    83 GS1100E intake boots install

Fixin' to install new intake boots on my 83 GS1100E. Just wondered if you should use any kind of sealant/permatex/silicone on the boots when installing them on the intake? I think the consensus is no, just wanted to be sure. Should I lube them at all, grease, WD40, or just slap them on dry? Tomorrow's going to be a big day, going to install my new Vance and Hines 4 into 1, rejet the carbs if needed, I can't wait to hear that baby roar! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks GS Resources!

I have the same boots and I just slap them on. Notice on the boots R and L for right and left.

Like chef commented there is lefts, and rights, also the Suzuki manuall instructs you to install the "L", and "R" stamps facing upwards. New boots are awesome in the sense that they are soft and flexable, you should have minimal problems doing the imfamous "carb rack slam" install. One tip, jam the carbs 1/2 the way in. and then install the throttle and choke cables. It's a REAL PIA installing the cables when the carbs are completely installed in place!
