    Crazy acting throttle

Well I went and fired up my GK yesterday early. The RPMs immediately shot up to 3k, but as I let off the choke, it didn't move. Adjusted the idle screw and it still didn't budge. Messed with the cable at the throttle and it seemed really loose. As I moved it, the RPMs dropped to barely keeping the bike running. I messed with the idle screw again, and nothing happened... but the idle screw fell out! So, I turned the bike off and put the screw in, adjusted the cable, now the damn thing jumps up to 6k RPMs at the push of the start button. It won't drop no matter what I do. The cable seems to be working just fine. The throttle snaps back. The choke rod seems to be fine. The bike never acted this weird. Intake leak is doubtful. Any suggestions?

Your bike has CV carbs. How long has it been since they were synced. If you still run an airbox, remove it and do a visual check that the carb butterflies are all synced.
Check that the linkages connecting the individual carbs are adjusted correctly and that they haven't loosened off.
If the carb linkages are ok, you need to check further for a serious air leak.

      1979 GS1000E front brakes

I'm looking for replacement brake lines to fit my bike, I see that new braid SS lines can be had for asw $50 from GALFER, but I don't see any for my yeat of motorcycle. If you all know of other year of bike brake lines that work, please feed me that information.

I don't know if brake lines will fix your throttle problems but.....
Check and see if your slides are stuck. How long since you ran it last?

It hadn't been ran for a couple of weeks. I had been playing with the EN too much. I rerouted the clutch cable just prior to this problem, but that seems to work alright.

If none of the above items appear to be on point, I would suggest exploring your Petcock and checking if you are getting fuel in the airbox and other indicators of gas coming in unfettered. Maybe a red herring but its my 2 cents

i had a similar problem on my 78 gs1000. i have 3 sets of carbs all set up differently, experimenting with various jetting etc. one set wouldn't idle down and i couldn't figure it out. my kid finally noticed that the plate or bar that stops the throttle was loose (it has two rivets holding it on), it was catching on the throttle and keeping it revved up. if you let it run like that for a few moments it would vibrate loose and throttle down. i just bent it aside and that stopped the problem. hope this helps, good luck.

Re-check your clutch cable routing. I had this happen to me once when I changed carbs and the clutch cable was interfering with the throttle links between 1 and 2 carbs.
