    What are these Jets?

Hey guys... These jets are out of a K&L 80-2 GS750 jet kit..

The kit has the floatvalve, main jet and pilot jet, as well as an adjustable needle.. but no needle jet. Plus these two "jets". What are they are where do they go? BS32SS carbs BTW.

(the small one is NOT the main jet)

    Thanks in advance

The smaller jet looks identical to what I have in a VM carb here. The longer piece definitely fits a VM carb (which is a whole different animal than what you have).

    See item 'A' here:

I have a GS850 and it uses BS32SS carbs . the long one looks like the pilot mixture screw , should be a small o-ring for the grove . and the small looks like one of the jets that are on the inlet throat of carb. they have numbers stamped into them to identify right one.

The small jet is a pilot air jet located just as previously stated. The needle type looks like an idle adjustment screw but not really. It should have a really pointy tip and yours does not. Are you sure you got the right kit?

I just rebuilt my VM carbs & the long one is my air adjust screw & as stated earlier, should have an o ring on it. The small one looks like the fuel flow control. Both look to be from a VM

Thanks a ton for the reply's guys... I'm sure i got the right kit, as all the other jets and the gasket match right up.. The smaller one is the one from the air inlet, so that one is eliminated.. The bigger one is still unknown, but it doesn't matter i guess. The carbs are completly stripped and i can't find anything that remotely looks like that needle/jet.

I have no experience with the K&L carb kits but some others around here that have purchased them tell stories about incorrect jet sizes, wrong parts, ect., in some of the kits. You might want to check all the "new" parts against the old ones you are replacing to see if they match.

Right. Unless you have severe corrosion somehow, there's no reason to change the brass parts. In this case, new may cause you problems.
Just inspect and clean the old brass and re-use.

Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

I've used K-L kits before and on some kits it will say in the paper work that there may be extra parts not for your application included since some kits are the same for multiple apps. Make sure you check/compare all jet sizes to your originals, or with whats recommended in the service manual for your bike.
