    750 two valve airbox question.....

    Anyone has a 750 airbox and carbs laying around? Maybe you could check something for me. I just noticed the small rubber horns that attach the box to the carbs seem too small, they are 1/4" or so smaller inside diameter than the inside of the carbs. They are also too small to fit the holes in the airbox correctly. There is actually a cresent-shaped leak around the top of the rubber, about 1/16 inch wide.
    I'm thinking maybe a P.O. used parts off a 550 or something?
    If anyone has this laying around can you check if yours fits the same way?

    They are a really tight fit and the rubber does shrink over time.

      The airbox/carb boots do shrink over time and look much smaller.

      New ones are, what, $7 each or so? It's time to order up a set.

        I agree. I have just fitted new intake boots and airbox rubbers to my 850. The airbox is the same as the 750. The increase in flexability and sealing at the airbox compared to the old rubber was incredible. It's now much easier to re-fit the carbs and airbox back onto the motor.
