    85 Gs700 Es --- Help

I just bought an 85 GS700 ES, just for a cheap powerplant for the GO-KART I am building. Can anyone help me find the engine/torque specs? I have tried to find a manual with no success. I don't need a manual for this specific bike, just one that the information is correct for the engine.

What other motors is the gs700 similar to?

What other bike/engine parts work on the gs700 engine?

What is a good aftermarket ignition? Just one with and adjustable rev-limit, nothing fancy. What is the stock rev-limiter set at?

    Thanks, James

In the U.S. '83 only, the 750 e and es are the same except for differances in cranks, the domes of the pistons (bore size is the same) and the camshafts. I don't think there is a rev limiter on the stock ignition, I've spun mine WAY past redline a couple times during a false neutral episode. PM me an address and I'll send you a copy of the engine specs from my FSM. I've never felt that it needed any thing better than the stock ignition, use'd to drag race mine for years, went 11.80's in good air with just a header and pod (K and N) air filters.
