Idle mix adjustment on an '83 750???
1983 GS 750E - I see no external screws, but this sucker is idling way too rich, has very stinky exhaust. Probably has been jetted as it has a Yoshimura pipe and it is running great except for the idle.

There are several models of the 83 750. You don't say what model. Check out the parts Fische for Suzuki at
flatoutmotorcycles.com
You can look at the exploded views of the various carburetors for the 750's and perhaps locate the adjustment screw you are looking for.

There are metal covers over the adjustment screws which must be removed before you can tweak the screw. Not sure about 83 750 model in particular though...

That picture is where they are on an '83. If the plugs are still there, (because you don't see them yet that is probably the case) Take a small drillbit (5/32) and drill a hole in the plug. Be careful not to drill into the screwhead that is under the plug (it is only about an 1/8 thick) Then use a sheet metal screw as a puller. As others said, the mixture screws may still be capped. If still capped, it's doubtful they've been disturbed and they wouldn't move on their own. But you can still record where there are currently. Then adjust them using the highest rpm method and see if it helps what you say is a rich idle. If you don't like the results you can always return them to the recorded settings and try something else.And on the seventh day,after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

The caps are right next to the intake on top of the carbs. You'll see a circular type piece with a small hole in the center. If you can't get the idle to lean out I'd suggest pulling your carbs and see what size pilot jets you have installed. While you have them off clean and rebuild them also.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.
