    International Bike Show

This post might get moved, but I thought I post it where everyone is.

Is the International Bike Show worth going to? I am thinking about going to Atlanta to catch the last weekend, but don't want to drive 4 hours if it is a waste.

I attended the last 2 shows in New York, But decided against this years 'cause IMO its not woth it. Basically like one huge dealership showroom with all the mainstream Makes, No Exotics or prototypes, Just the same old bikes you can see any where bikes are sold. And all the stuff for sale at Vendors is priced higher than what you can find mail-order and the really isn't as much as you would expect. Of course there is a LOT of stuff geared toward the "chopper", "Custom" crowed if thats what your into. There are usually a couple cool stunt bikes and custom sportbikes.
Both times I went, I spent about an hour shuffling through shoulder to shoulder crowds, saw a couple cool things and was ready to go.
The most interesting bikes I saw were always out in the parking lot!

Yeah, you don't really see unique things enough at bike shows, although I enjoy them. Car shows, especially classic car shows, are better.

It's basically a dealer show, but you do have the opportunity to actually sit on the bikes. I don't know how it around you, but that's a big no-no at local dealerships here. The other positive is the deals you can come across in apparell. There can be some great deals found.

I'm attending this year's show in Chicago, but it's more about seeing the people I typically ride with, than actually making any plans to buy a new bike. If you're planning on bring the family, it can also be fun.

Not worth 4 hours getting there because you'll want to leave after 2.

Thanks guys, the only bike show I had ever been to was the dealer show in Indianapolis years back. It was dealer only, and one heck of a good time. I worked for Sunstar then.

I guess I'll pass on ATL
