Largest capacity fuel tank?

I think that I have the smallest tank ever put on a GS or it sure seems that way.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

I believe the largest capacity fuel tanks are on the shaft drive G models--850,1000,1100 (but not the GLs). They are 5.8 gallons. It would make sense that the more touring oriented bikes would get the largest gas tanks.Believe in truth. To abandon fact is to abandon freedom.

The GSX tanks on the early GS/GSX1100E and GS/GSX750e bikes were bigger than the GS (US) tanks...not sure how much bigger but it looks to be a good deal more.

I had a Kawasaki KLR650 (very nice bike) with a huge tank - and it's the only bike I ever ran out of gas and had to push.
