GS850GL Fork Springs - I've Searched High and Low!

Can anyone tell me if Progressive part # 11-1107 is the correct fork spring for a 1983 GS850GL? Please?

Who makes these progressive springs? I am considering fitting a set to my '79 850.

You'll need to find one more hunka pipe to make spacers the correct length -- the piece of PVC pipe included is only enough to make one spacer for a GL fork.

Brian, does that apply to the GN as well?

                Hi

I have ca. 5-6 cm left after I had made 2 spacers.
I used the original spacers + the PVC spacers...

No -- GL forks (axle in front of the fork tube) need a much longer spacer than G forks (axle at the bottom of the fork tube). The hunk of PVC included is enough to make both spacers for a G model. (Your GN is a 1979 model, and there was no GL model that year)

You could just stack them up with the stock spacers like Einar, but I'd rather keep things as simple as possible for some reason. When we did the forks on my friend Al's '82 GS850GL, we made spacers from a length of aluminum pipe I bought years ago specifically for the purpose of making fork spring spacers. PVC works fine, too, as long as you get the high-density stuff with thick walls.

How long should the spacers be when I cut my own?
