    Ignition Coils

Can anyone tell me if there are any advantages/disadvantages to using ignition coils from a GS 1000 on a GS 650? I have a 1000 for a parts bike and the wires are in better shape than the ones on the 650.

    Thanks.

I don't see an advantage, if there is nothing wrong with the ones on there now.

One side does 1 & 3 the other side does 2 & 4 from memory (might be 1 & 4 & 2 & 3). It doesn't matter which of the pair you connect to which as it's wasted spark, both leads from the coil spark both times anyway.

No advantage to using the coils from the 1000, should be the same or very similar if similar year. If the wires are better, why not...
