    In with the new.....

I'm getting ready to start the gasket replacement to stop the oil leaks around the head and jugs. There has to be better/great idea things that should be done while in work.....Any hints? I have access to a manual machine shop( millers, lathes, ect.) have rebuilt mopars, green status applies to the 1981 GS1100 my wife told me not to buy- I wonder why divorce lawyers are well off... Anyway metric sockets ready to go- weather here in NYC is getting warm and the gas tank is full......Spend twice as much and as long to do it right the first time.... Yeah- sparkly

Or do you just like tearing stuff apart?

Don't fix it if it ain't broke.

    Unless you want to.

        by the way...

Yeah there is a lot of spare time around here... Trying to get a little insight to my passion with motorcycles while finding the time to put one girl through grad school, another to Brandeis and all I want is to ride my bike that has an issue. 'Tearing stuff apart' sounds like a great day.......not. Thanks but no thanks

You need head gasket, rocker cover , base gasket and 4 barrel o-rings, probably should replace rings whilst in there.

Thanks - At 34,000 is a ring job needed? Hone, etc...? Any upgrades to removed parts before re-assemble? Again thanks. Off to Fast Freddies' Shop....
