The bracket adjusts but is already slid as far towards the front of the bike as possible and still no joy. Anyone know what I mean? I am I correct in my thinking?

Seat info
I noticed the other day my seat doesnt fit right. I was wondering if perhaps some of the smaller L models had shorter seats. My seat is not long enough to both slide the dowels under the hooks near the tank and latch on the bracket over the rear fender.

Do you have the step type seat? I measured my 82 and 81 and with the tape pushed all the way into the front hook to the center of one of the mounting bolts on the latch I have approx 21" on the same side. The reciever on the rear fender side should be mounted towards the tank side. I think the 850 & 1000 seats are the same with the 650 & 1100 seats being different but am not 100% sure.82 GS850L - The Original http://s224.photobucket.com/albums/d...ePics067-1.jpg
