    petcock hookup help needed

I first want to say that I am so glad I found this sit it has already helped me. I have just acquired my fathers 1978 gs 750 that he started to strip down to the frame to redo for resones not known to me. The bike only have 14k on it. Anyway i have it all back together but i can't don't know how to hook up the vacuum line to the petcock, or were the vacuum line is in the frist place. I think that it must have something to do with the 2 or 3 lines on the top of the carbs but i don't know. I got the bike to start and run but only on prime. That works so long as i dont torn off the bike, if i do it spilles gas out of carb 1 (left side carb, thats is #1 i think) any help in locating the proper vacuum lines would mack my day.

If it's anything like my gs850, the #2 carb has a vacuum line coming off of the top. there is one hose connection for fuel (shared by all carbs) and two more for float bowl vents (one shared between carb 1 & 2, one shared between three and 4). the vacuum line from #2 should go to the petcock, fuel line goes to petcock (sounds like you've got that one sorted). the two vent lines just hang out i think (someone chime in and correct me if this is in error). I'd post a picture if i had one, but it should be pretty easy to figure out.

In stock format, the two fuel vent lines a routed up and back and are fastened by a plastic coated metal clip, on the top of the inner fender, ahead of the rear wheel.
