Also, you can tell if your intakes are leaking by letting the bike idle and spraying some ether around the seals. If the bike revs up on it's own, you have a leak.

Buy a new fuel petcock if it's leaking. Mine failed over the winter in storage and drained my entire gastank into the engine. When it comes to fuel, get a new one

I bought all the parts (boots, orings, and petcock) from bike bandit.com. Total was around $160 after shipping.
Completely fixed the popping and sputtering on my bike. Runs VERY strong now. Just gotta fix the ugliness!

Replaced boots still don't run right. I think maybe the carbs need to rebuilt again. The guy that did it before I don't think tore them down all the way. I took them apart and the gang plate screws gave a "pop" sound like they havent been done in a while and the pilot jet on #4 was completely stipped out. I think I just need to find a set of once working carbs from a junk yard and be done with it.
