    Upgrade Carberators

    I have an 82 1100GSLZ model and I need to know what the most modern carberators I can bolt on to the bike. I am breaking down and getting the pods being I have put on the V&H 4 to 1 on the bike (Had to jet the carbs way down to get them to work with the stock air cleaner). The carberators I have are in need of repair and finding full repair kits is getting difficult. I figure I should just break down and get a newer set of carbs in better condition and possibly a little more responsive for the old girl.

    I have alot of repairs to do this year so any help on this subject would be appreciated.

    Short Repair list
    My tach hit 25,000 miles last summer and the regulator/rectifier went out on me (imagine that ).
    Need to do some rewiring to deal with overheated wires due to regulator.
    Carbs and pods.
    New boot for the rear drive
    Have a new seat built from the PAN up.
    Amongst other little stuff.

    Well, I guess the most modern carbs you could use (suitable for street use) would be the Mikuni RSs. But they're quite expensive, generally around $800. If you're looking for a cheaper option, I believe GSXR carbs will fit.

      I'd get the Dynojet stage3 kit. Carbs usually don't wear out unless you break or strip something. A good carb cleaning http://www.thegsresources.com/gs_carbrebuild.htm
