    Valve Adjust - Gaskets

For my valve adjust this is what I have on the shopping list on the gasket etc front.

Figure I can flush the breather hose out with some degreaser & rag. Do I need the seperators? I read that as filters so....

One thing I'm not sure of is am I likely to need the half moon plus under the end caps? Maybe I'll get them just in case.

I have a small drip from the tacho cable - are these two seals enough to cure it or should I be getting the sleeve, plate & drive as well??

    For clarity I have parts 24 & 23 off the first fiche, half moons are 18 then parts 8, 10, 11 & 2 off the 2nd fiche.

    Cheers,

    Dan

You need #8 and #2 from the valve cover fiche.
I would also replace the half-moons if they are old.
I've had a half-moon pop out on me on the hway.
Not fun. Replace them and you should be good for
    the next 20 years.

Also consider getting rubber replacement gaskets
    for #8 and #2: www.realgaskets.com

I have them on both bikes. Makes valve adjustment
a breeze since they are reusable and there's no
    residue to clean up.

I've seen these before but I'm not 100% sure which to buy as mine's not listed....

Maybe I'll give the guy a call see what he knows...

I'll get the moons while I'm there then, probably worth just replacing them anyway just in case.

      Cheers,

Yes, I would get the half-moons. A they area cheap and easy to replace, then you won't have any leaks later.

I recently replaced only the seals on my tach (also had a small leak, and its fine now). I would also highly recommend the realgaskets. Give the guy a call, I've talked to him a couple of times and he seems to know his stuff.
