    Turn signal problem

I am having a problem with my turn signals, when I turn one side on , the bulbs light, but do not blink. I have replaced the flasher and the turn signal box. This is on a 84 GS1150. I have replaced the stock gauges with a set of GSXR gauges. The stock gauges had a turn signal distance control on them to turn the turn signals off but the new gauges do not and I believe this may be causing my problems. Will a two post flasher vs the stock three post (connectors) resolve this or is there another way to correct this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Just curious, have you changed the bulbs?

My '79 850 had a similar set up, it stopped working and I by passed it all with two signal flashers (two post), one per side and it has worked just fine for the last six years. Get yourself a circuit tester and a multi meter, think it took me a couple hours to rewire.

Could it be dirt in switch?

When I go thru my T-CLOCKS before riding seems almost always when I flip on the turn signals the first time, stead-on without blinking, then turn off, then back on again and blinks fine. Been that way for over a year...not suggestion on the fix really....

I had this happen on mine, I had to replace the control box (under left side cover) to correct it. You could be right about the distance control issue.
Can you reinstall the stock gauges temporarily to verify?

Yes, the bulbs are good. I no longer have the original gauges to try it. I guess I will try a two prong flasher and go that route. Thanks to everyone.

I had the same problem on my GS1000. I was going nuts till I realized that the problem was that I had taken off my rear sigs. Reconnected and VOILA!

              I know that doesn't help. I'm just post wh0ring.

I had problems with my turn signals too on my 83 GS1100esd after swapping the OEM turn signal for some mini ones. I was told that it had something to do with the resistance of the newer mini bulb. I got frustrated and replaced them with a shorter style turn signal with the stock size bulb and wala, I was back in business.
