    airbox

    is it normal for the airbox tubes to shrink over time? i cant get mine to go back on to the carbs.
    they are very hard also.

    YES...a common problem indeed! If you have some extra cash, I'd say buy some new ones. You can treat the old ones to several coats of silicone spray over the course of a few days and it does help to some extent. Some suggest using a heat gun or hair dryer but don't get them too hot or you WILL be looking for new ones. :?

      The airbox/carb tubes are only about $7 or $8 each for most GS models, and they will make your life so much easier that you will kick yourself for not ordering them earlier.

      When you need lots of parts and/or expensive parts as cheap as possible:

      Cheapest parts prices anywhere, average shipping costs, might take a few days longer.

      When you need a few parts fast:

      Fast, very cheap shipping, a little more expensive parts costs.

            Both the sites bwringer gave you sell them new. Bikebandit has a part lookup feature for most Suzuki bikes. I believe that they buy them from Suzuki and ship them to you.

              alright... how come no one recommended the possibility of getting new boots in my post on reinstalling the carbs? (not that I have the money... so it doesn't matter anyhow)

              I am trying something a little different for the two inner carbs... I have removed the two inner boots from the airbox... so I can warm them up without warming up the airbox itself (and loosing some of the "rigidity").

              I have also slapped a racquet ball in each one (not all the way but enough to stretch them just a little).

              Hoping this gets mine back in. (But then again with the weather lately.. it appears I have plenty of time to get this thing running )

                I got my boots from a suzuki dealership. Still waiting to get em I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I had the same exact problem. I took the boots all the way off the airbox and no matter how hard I pushed they just wouldnt stay on. I even tried using a big wide hose clamp to hold them down and on the mounting surface and not even that worked.

                  I'm still using the old ones, but they're on the 'very short list' of things to replace. I used WD-40 the last time I installed them.

                    hmmmm sound like good idea .. i may try that. ive spent to much money on my bike in the last week , so if a heat gun and ball work hell yeah!

                      i went for a long ride today ..still with the air box just sitting there not really on the carbs, and the heat from the motor seems to loosen the rubbers up enough i could force them on. but im not stickin my hand in there after riding lol ... so i will probly pull it all back apart and try heating them one at a time with a heat gun then clamping them on.

                        How does it run without the airbox on it. Mine wont even rev up without it.

                          mine runs like pure crap without the air box, i wanted to run 4 seperate open air filters , but now i dont know lol.
                          think ill stick to the stock box

                            well i just got back from riding... before i left the house i decided to play with air box again, i still cant get it on all the way :x , ill probly buy a new box and rubbers. but i did manage to rig it up so the rubber at least sits on the carbs and now the bike runs perfect!!! i finaly got to ride more than halve a mile from my house with out worry that ill be walking home lol
