GS 750 Engine replacement Question
The Rod has started to go on my 1982 GS750T. My mechanic is suggesting that I get a replacement engine as it will be cheaper than replacing the rod and crankshaft. All we really need is the lower half of the engine as the Head and Carbs are still good. My question is, Are there any other engines from other models that would be compatable or does it need to be a 750T engine.

Master Chief, I believe the GS1100E engine will drop right into the frame. You could still keep the GS750 badges if you wanted some fun. TB.1980 Suzuki GS550E, 1981 Suzuki GS 1100EX all stock, 1983 Suzuki GS 1100EX modified, 1985 GS1150E, 1998 Honda Valkyrie Tourer, 1971 Kawasaki Mach lll 500 H1, 1973 Kawasaki Mach lV 750 H2.

2 more questions,
1.) what year range would still work with the 1982
2. If I were to change it to a GS1100E what else would have to be changed?
