What kind should I buy. Where should I buy it? And what should I expect to pay for it?
Thanks in advance!8-[Tags: None

Check the For Sale forum. There is some guy selling converted Honda regulators for a reasonable price.

Also:
They were Electrex, the original sponser of the GS Resources many years ago. At one time they were the people to go to for regulator/rectifiers and stators but I've heard that their quality is now suspect but I can't personally attest to that.

One of the major wiring faults that can cause this is an inadequate ground wire from the r/r to the battery.
In the process of regulation, the r/r momentarily shunts the excess power straight to ground. If there is not a good ground, it has nowhere to go, causing problems.

I see they have applications listed for 79-82 GS750L but not the regular non-L model. Does the L matter or will this work for the plain old GS 750?

Some of the earlier bikes had separate rectifiers and regulators.
Not sure what years or what models, but it is right in that '76-'79 timeframe.

the 79 L model GS750 is different than the other gs750's that year. The 79 L model shares the recifier/regulator as one unit as seen on following years tscc models. The 77-79 GS750 and GS750E have seperate rectifiers and regulators.
