No air valve on forks 81GS1100

There's no air valve on the forks of my 1981 GS1100E. Does this mean:
    a) it was removed
    b) these forks never came with the option

In my manual it states I need 7psi of air in my forks. Can anyone fill me in?

If it isn't there, it's been removed, If my memory serves me right, it should be on the outside of the left fork, just below the headlight housing. You can possibly overlook it, as it should have either a chrome or a black 10mm hex head cap on it that covers the stem, threads and all. Doesn't look like a valve stem, till this cap is removed.

it is located on the left fork leg just above the bottom fork clamp and has a hose that crosses over to the left side.

the shrader valve is under a cap show highlighted here.
