    Cross Reference Charts

To all: What would be really nice for this site is a cross reference chart for exhaust and mufflers. Alot of questions posted for this and would really make it easier when finding replacement parts. We also know that because the exhaust pipes of the Generic model on the pipe for EPA or something - the model number cross reference is no good. I.E. my pipes are stamped with a GS1000.

If we started a chart - and everyone who had success or failure would report their findings we could make up this chart.

Chart 1 = What years / models mufflers fit on what years / models.
Chart 2 = What years / models complete exhaust fit on what years / models.
Chart 3 = What years / models Fuel/Gas/Petrol Tanks fit on what years / models.

I know from trying last night that a 79GS850G gas tank does not fit on a 78 GS1000C. The neck works but the frame is too wide on the GS1000C for the tank to sit in place.

    Any comments?

    Recommendation from the Site Person?

(I am looking for a GS750C seat and a GS1000C mufflers, tank, and seat)
    Yea - seats too.

Excellent idea, not sure about exhausts and mufflers but here is some other stuff..

GS (x) 1150 carbs fit right onto an 1100, Jetting required.
80 and 82 1100 brake rotors and calipers are the same.
GN 250 Regulator Rectifier (lots of cooling fins) fits, with terminal changes, GS's.
5/8" Kawasaki ZX9 , front brake master cylinder makes a nice replacement on the 1100's.

Bearings for 1100's from any bearing supplier:
    Front wheel 2x 6302
    Rear wheel 2x 6204
    Sprocket 1x 6305
    Swingarm 2x TA2530
    Steering head, upper 1x HR32005XJ
    Steering head, lower 1x HR32006XJ

Need contributions for cross reference info

All members are encouraged to contribute cross reference information here on this thread. Please.

When we get more information, I will see if I can put it on a table or togeather in some kind of summary.

      OK?

        GS1000 to GS1100 - GS1150 Engine, Swing Arm - etc

It needs very few mods. Both the GS1100 and the GS1150 will bolt into the GS1000 frame. The GS1100 swing arm also bolts right onto the GS1000 and if you put the brake stay and caliper upside down on the bottom you can put an "89 GSXR 160 rear wheel that will also just bolt right on. The "92 GSXR upside front end also just bolts right on no mods. I have done it. Check out the June 2005 BOM.

Had a 1980 GS1000S, with an 83 1100E engine in it. Just switch the front mounting nuts side to side and build up the gap with washers or a machined spacer and you're good. I assume a 1980 1000S had the same frame as a 79?
