bolt on front leg - does it come out?

    may be a novice question...
The bolt on the right fork leg, the one that clamps the spindle down, was worn out, and it didn't take much to break it off while clamping the spindle on.... the neighbors heard more than a few curses.
is this bolt a part of the leg, or can i just remove the bolt somehow?
do i need a whole new leg?
    thanks for the help.
    It's a GS 850 GT, 1980.

It's a stud that does come out. Search the forums for removal techniques. If there is enough left to grab onto you probably need some heat.

It is just a stud bolt and is replaceable. If the old one is still sticking out use a vise grips and heat up the aluminum tube where it is threaded in. Suzuki still has these.

      # 6 in the diagram. It is am 8mm x 30mm stud bolt.

I have not needed to heat anything to remove the axle cap bolts on the fork bottoms. Just a pair of vice grips.
Install the new bolt with BLUE loctite.
