Let's build a tool kit !
What are the bare minimum items in your tool kit? Do you have a tool which you feel is invaluable? Aside from the stock Suzuki tool kit (which I don't think is real helpful), what do you carry around for general day to day travels? Any spare parts even? I'm looking for "must have" items to create my own tool kit. The first thing I'd put in would be a 3/8 drive metric socket set 8mm through 14mm. What else?Tags: None

I was checking in to making my own kit, too. Here's what I plan on packing:
ratchet with extension and sockets in 8, 10, 12, 14, and 17mm.
spark plug socket
spark plug(s)
12 volt tester
Small Cresent wrench
screw drivers
hex key set
regulator/rectifier/cdi
headlight bulb
turn signal/brake light bulbs
fuses
tire repair plugs
electrical tape/electrical connectors

I have one of these on each of my bikes. Compact and versatile. Quality construction. Shop around. You can pick 'em up for around $36 bucks.
Motion Pro - High quality cables, tools and controls for motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles and personal watercraft.
I also have a small tire repair kit. Also compact. With enough CO2 to get me to the next town (hopefully). Mine is not this exact one, but you'll get the idea.
Finally, in the tools department I have a small flashlight. The kind that you need to shake. And also a few old rags.
This all fits into a little pouch I have hanging on the front of the GS1100, or under the seat of the GS1000.
