    Gas and Vacum Line routing

GS850G (1979) I am looking for information how to hook up the lines going to the carburetors.
Some are no brainier – but I don’t know about the others. When I got the bike the tank was disconnected.
I have the Clymer GS850 manual but the pictures in it are to dark to decipher the hose connections.
Also looking for a gas cap at reasonable cost - I do not care if it has a key lock, information to ware to get
a after market simple cap would be grate.
    Thanks Bill wdemerly@comcast.net

There are two hose barbs on your petcock. A small one for vacuum, and the larger one for fuel. You should be able to find two similar barbs on the carbs. Look in between #2 & #3 carb. There are other barbs on #1 & #4 carbs. These are vents. You can leave them without hoses. I believe you also have four barbs sticking straight down from each carb. These are bowl drains in case the carbs get flooded. These must have hoses routed behind the tranny so fuel will drip away from the hot motor. There is one final hose to be aware of. On the tank gage sending unit there is a small barb. Route a hose back along the frame & down behind the tranny.

    Hope that helps.

Use quality fuel line that wont kink. Not clear plastic tubing. Mine are all clamped. When you mount the tank be sure the hoses dont kink. It can be tough to see under the tank.
