    I almost gave up.Glad I didnt!!! Yeeha!!!

I dont expect many posts here cause i already have another thread titled I give up.But,let me just say this.....IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!

I got it going, just came back from riding it,life is better, the earth spins a little more evenly now, and my wife is looking at jewelry for helping me.Oh,well.

Fixing your own motor and your wife helping you and finally riding it after seeing it in boxes for 5 weeks...Priceless.I love you guys, with all sexual overtones removed of course.Ron B

We love you too Ron. You are one of the GS siblings and I am so glad to hear about your bike going. I agree about the wife part. I do a lot of stuff with my girl and those moments become long term happy memories. Enjoy the ride (with and without her) and be safe.

Glad you got it running and didn't give up!
I too know the feeling of going from total frustration to sheer ecstacy.
And on the seventh day, after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

Yeah, it wasnt the choke. It was the throttle cable way way out of adjustment.imagine that after not being used for 5 weeks.

If you would have sold it and someone posted here how it was fixed you would have cried. I felt like parting mine out one time because of a silly problem but two days later I just went about fixing it and overall it was not bad. These are tough bikes and there are good reasons why so many are still around and looking good. I don't see that many old hondas or kawasakis that are as durable as the venerable GS
1981 GS650G , all the bike you need
1980 GS1000G Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely
